Welcome to OSMOND '70s ADVENTURES (O7A), a website dedicated to the fabulous days of "Osmondmania," when the Osmonds ruled the airwaves, took over turntables, and sang and danced their way into the hearts and onto the bedroom walls of millions of young girls around the world. I was one of those girls, having been introduced to the Osmonds in the 1960s when they were regulars on "The Andy Williams Show."
Of course, I didn't know it as "Osmondmania" back then. That term seemed to lend itself more to the United Kingdom's reaction to the Osmonds, which was often compared to the days of "Beatlemania." Where I grew up – in the midwest area of the United States (Chicago, to be exact) – we were well aware of the popularity of the Osmonds, especially
When I say "us," I am referring to my tight-knit group of Osmond pals, including high school friends who shared my passion for all things Osmond and a few others whom we met at such Osmond events as concerts, fan parties and outings to O'Hare Airport in hopes of meeting "The Family" (our term for the Osmonds, often interchanged with "The Guys") on their way to other locales. I'm happy to say that most of these friends are still part of my life today, nearly 40 years later. I treasure my time with them, talking Osmonds or just talking life!
To this day, it is hard for me to listen to an Osmond album, glance through my book of tour photos, view a video of one of their television appearances, glance at an early teen magazine pin-up or reminisce with one of my Osmond "buds" without smiling ear-to-ear.
Therefore, I write and gather content for this site with love...primarily the love of Osmond music and the love of friends gained through the single connecting factor known as "Osmondmania."
I hope you'll join the site and return often to reminisce, contribute, and meet new friends. And 'til we meet again...much Oslove to you!
